In exactly one month’s time, our student accommodation over here in Hull will finally have Wi-Fi. Huzzah! It’s been a month now since going back to university and although it’s slightly pathetic, I’ve been finding it hard to cope without proper internet. Being unable to blog as regularly as I’d like is annoying enough, but living without Netflix is (and I’m not being dramatic here) HORRIFIC. How did people cope before broadband?!
A couple of months ago I stumbled across The Netflix Tag on Essays and Wine and, for some unknown reason, I decided now would be the perfect time to give it a go for myself. Reminding myself of all the wonderful programming I’m missing out on had to be a good idea, right? I think I’ll just go off and cry in a corner now…

Happy Wednesday, readers!
As you may have noticed, it’s been a while since I last posted anything on Poppy alla Norma. Rest assured, I’m still alive and well, I’m just in the midst of exam season, which of course means STRESS. Although I’m in my first year of university and technically only need to pass my exams, I’m hoping to receive at least a 2:1 as an overall mark for the year. This means that I’m spending most of my time at the moment trying to get to grips with my arch nemesis: biogeography. This hellish mix of ecology and geography is causing me nightmares; physical geography has never been my forte and I haven’t studied biology for at least four years.
Therefore, I don’t have anywhere near as much time as I’d like for blogging. I’ll try to post sporadic updates and little posts here and there, but when I’m not revising, eating or sleeping, I’m trying desperately to relax. I seem to be stressing out over getting stressed – I really don’t help myself sometimes.
I did post a couple of updates on Twitter and Instagram the other day though, after having a delightful crafty day which did a wonderful job of calming me down. I dedicated my day to the art of subversive cross stitch, or ‘cross bitching’ as I like to call it.
