Sewing Sunday: Tripping Balls Seamwork Mesa

Sewing Sunday: Tripping Balls Seamwork Mesa

After the failure that was my Astoria top, I was eager to try my hand at sewing with knits again, simply to prove to myself that I could make something half-decent if I really tried. I wanted something relatively simple, with as few details that could go wrong as possible. Enter the Seamwork Mesa, with its simple silhouette and perfect blank canvas to show off some wacky prints.

I have to be honest and say that I thought this would be easier to sew than it was, and I was not anticipating the fit issues I ended up having with it. Nevertheless, I persevered and ended up with something I’ll be proud to wear in public, so that’s a major improvement from last time! It isn’t by any means perfect, and the seams look a little messy on the inside, but I am still so happy with it.

Sewing Sunday: DIY Tote Bags

Sewing Sunday: DIY Tote Bags

Ever since I first thought of making these tote bags as Christmas table favours I’ve been dying to blog about them, but I didn’t want to risk spoiling the surprise for my family. Now it’s 2016 I can finally post about these babies!

This Christmas, inspired by my bestie Beth who handmade all of her gifts to people, I decided to make each of my family members a personalised present just for them. 'Whatever, I'm Late Anyway' Watch

Being late is just part of who I am, and it always has been. It’s not because I’m rude, or lazy, or because I don’t care… I am just generally late for everything. This article explains it so much better than I ever could!

However, despite my reliable lateness, I hate not knowing what time it is. I only owned one watch prior to ordering this one – a beautiful piece my parents bought me for my 18th birthday, but it’s too nice for everyday wear. I wanted a cheep and cheerful watch that would stand up to being bashed around on a daily basis, something I wouldn’t cry over if it ended up breaking.

That’s exactly how I ended up with this awesome watch. A sassy slogan, a gorgeous mint green strap and a teeny tiny price tag… what more could a girl want?!

Stag Head Necklace

Stag Head Necklace

After spending a lovely ten days away in Spain, I’m back at work today. The weather is miserable here in Britain and the nights are drawing in, I’d give anything to be back on the beach!

Whilst I was unpacking on Sunday, I realised that one of the things I wore most whilst I was away – apart from the Primark skirt I posted about the other day – was a cheapo necklace from eBay. Everyone, meet my stag!
