OOTD: Poorboy Vintage Midi Skirt

Poorboy is, without a doubt, my favourite vintage shop in Hull. I never fail to find something unique whenever I visit either of their boutiques, and when they have a sale on (like they do right now!), the bargains are incredible. If you aren’t in the Hull area, you can also buy from Poorboy online or just drool over their Instagram, as I often do.

One of the trends I love most in the summer months is crochet. Feminine, romantic and oh-so-pretty, crochet is a staple of spring/summer fashion for very good reason! The high street has outdone itself this year, and everywhere you look you can find beautiful crochet pieces in all sorts of shapes and styles. Kimonos are perfect for rocking the boho chic look at festivals, or you can go sleek and sophisticated with a white crochet playsuit. Crop tops and skirts are playful and fun ways to rock the trend, but if the weather starts taking a turn (let’s face it, it’s Britain, most of summer will probably be grey and miserable!) you can throw on a crochet jumper or a long-sleeve dress to stay warm in style.

I haven’t worn a jacket since March and every time I’ve left the house I have regretted that decision – Hull looks so warm through a window, but we don’t half get some nasty cold winds. Finally I can bear my arms without getting goosebumps!

With summer finally here, it’s time to talk about sun, sea and swimwear. Many women get nervous at the thought of wearing swimming costumes and bikinis, and just two weeks ago I would have counted myself in this category too. However, with a few tips on body confidence and dressing for your shape, being ready to bare all in a bikini is much easier than you’d think.
