Beauty Products I Regret Buying

Beauty Products I Regret Buying

Recently, I’ve been reading a lot of great beauty blogs in the hopes of getting back into writing about make-up. My favourite posts are always about regretted purchases since I find those the most useful when I’m considering whether or not to buy a product, and there’s nowt better than reading a good rant! So I thought I’d have a go at writing my own but be warned; this is a picture-heavy post and it may load slowly on mobile devices. It’s worth the wait, I promise!

Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick – Rebel With Cause

Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick - Rebel With Cause

What can you buy for £1 nowadays? Most newspapers cost over £1, as do magazines and TV guides. A 500ml drink would push you over £1 in most places. Bus tickets for £1 or less? I wish! Back in the day I could go into to the newsagents with £1 and leave a very happy girl, with a (free) carrier bag full of all my favourite sweets and a newspaper for my parents… the good ol’ days of the early noughties, eh?

Before I digress any further, the point I’m trying to make is that it’s hard to get anything half decent for a quid nowadays. Step up Makeup Revolution!

Makeup Revolution have taken the beauty blogging world by storm in the last couple of years, thanks to their high quality and undeniable value for money. Lush Oxford Street Haul

I was lucky enough to visit London with my boyfriend a couple of weeks ago, and there was only one attraction on my mind during the whole two hour train journey from Manchester. The London Eye? Nope. Big Ben? Not even close.

Lush Oxford Street is, quite simply put, the Holy Grail for cruelty-free beauty addicts. To wander around a shop and know that you can pick out absolutely anything you like and buy it straight away, without having to search online for a cruelty-free declaration or a vegetarian/vegan ingredients list, is one of the best feelings in the world. I get excited enough in normal sized Lush stores, but it’s fair to say that the Lush on Oxford Street, the biggest Lush shop in the entire world, made me lose my mind entirely. I was more than prepared to completely drain my bank account and buy every single one of the 200-odd products exclusive to Oxford Street, but I was actually pretty restrained with my purchases.

What did I end up buying? Read on to find out!

Review: Superdrug Solait Suncare

White Rabbit! I can’t believe it’s July already – where is this year going?

Here in Britain we’re currently in the midst of a two-day heatwave and, being as white as a sheet and a hayfever sufferer like I am, I’m hating it. I’m sincerely hoping for a quick return of the rain and big grey clouds I’m used to as a Mancunian!

Although sunbathing is my idea of hell, sometimes you can’t avoid sun exposure. That’s when you have to reach for the sun cream, but finding decent cruelty-free sun protection can be tricky business. Before I went to Spain I spent a long time looking for a reputable brand of CF suncream, and after a lot of searching, I decided to head to my local Superdrug and try out their Solait brand of suncare products.

Review: Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo

It’s festival season! If you’re heading to Download this weekend or to another festival later in the summer, chances are you’re not planning to shower whilst you’re there.
